Every file you upload to Aligned can be up to 1 GB. This limit is the same in every place you can upload and on every plan. What differs by location is how many files you can upload at once, how many items a section can hold, and which file types are accepted. Aligned has no total storage limit for an account or for the Library. When an upload is blocked, Aligned shows a short message at the bottom of the screen that names the limit.
Prerequisites & Requirements
Plan: All plans. Upload limits are the same on Free, Basic, Pro, and Enterprise.
Technical: Aligned checks file size and file type in your browser before the upload starts.
Maximum file size
The maximum file size in Aligned is 1 GB per file. This limit applies to the Library, every Room section, Files Sharing sections, the Files tab, and Next Steps attachments. The exact limit is 1,024,000,000 bytes, so a file that macOS shows as 1.02 GB still uploads.
How many files you can upload at once
How many files you can upload at once depends on where you upload:
Library: select or drag in as many files as you need. There is no limit on the number of files in one upload.
Room sections, Files Sharing sections, the Files tab, and Next Steps: one file from your computer per upload. Room sections include Links & Examples, Carousel Section, Large Section, and Mobile View.
To add several items to a Room section in one step, upload the files to the Library first, then add them to the section from the Library. For the steps, see Files: Add multiple items to a Room and download in bulk.
How many items a section can hold
Each Room section type holds a maximum number of items:
Files Sharing: up to 50 items per section. The Files tab uses Files Sharing sections, so the same limit applies there.
Links & Examples: up to 20 items per section.
Carousel Section: up to 10 items per section.
Large Section: 1 item.
Mobile View: 1 item.
Next Steps: no limit on attachments per task.
Every item in a section counts toward its limit, including files and links. In a Files Sharing section, files and links that buyers upload also count toward the 50-item limit. A Room as a whole and the Files tab as a whole have no item limit.
To add more items than a section holds, add another section of the same type. Only a seller editing the Room can add a section. Buyers cannot add sections, so a buyer who reaches the limit needs to ask the seller to add one.
Supported file types
Supported file types depend on where you upload. The standard list is accepted everywhere:
Documents: pdf, doc, docx, ppt, pptx, xls, xlsx
Videos: mp4
Images: jpg, jpeg, png, webp, gif
Audio: wav
Each upload location accepts these file types:
Room sections (Links & Examples, Carousel Section, Large Section, Mobile View): the standard list only.
Library: the standard list, plus csv, txt, and zip.
Files Sharing sections, the Files tab, and Next Steps: most file types. Web page and code files are blocked for security reasons: html, htm, xhtml, mhtml, shtml, xml, js, and mjs.
The upload box shows the maximum file size before you upload. In the Library and in Room sections, the upload box also lists the supported formats.
For the best playback on every device, upload video as MP4. Very high-resolution images can load slowly in a Room, so optimize large images before uploading them.
Limitations
